First Ice - Puddles

Nov 9, 2019 | By: Mike Moats Photography

When we get our first real cold front in the northern regions, where the temps dip down below freezing, it's time to head to the local parks, where I find ice covered puddles that are filled with leaves.

I use my Tamron 18-400 lens so I can stay at the edge of the puddles and reach out to capture these images.  I can't walk on the ice as it is to thin and will destroy the ice and subject I'm shooting. Here are some of the images I shot in these puddles.
