Boring Flower Comp Turns Artistic

Jul 21, 2017 | By: Mike Moats Photography

I try and teach flower photographers to create something new, different, artistic, when they set up their compositions.  Here is a Purple Coneflower image that is composed in the simplest, most common, done a million times composition.  The only way to help this image and make it unique and stand out is to create an artistic look through post processing.  I used Smart Photo Editor which has an amazing amount of creative filters to play with.  I will be teaching this program along with Nik and Topaz programs in my new workshops this fall and next year.

This adds a whole new look to this simple boring composition. I would not share the original image with my macro photo geek friends on the internet, but this one is now worthy of sharing.
